Chiropractic treatment is simply a method of adjusting the bones of your body to improve skeletal alignment. In doing so, it helps your nervous system work more efficiently, relieves pain and discomfort and increases mobility.
How is the McTimoney method different?
The McTimoney method is recognised as being a gentle, precise, whole body approach to chiropractic care. McTimoney chiropractors strive for optimal health by treating the whole body and by considering physical, emotional and environmental factors rather than only the part that hurts.McTimoney chiropractors use quick, gentle and accurate adjustments that are comfortable to receive.
Can McTimoney chiropractic help me?

What can I expect from my first session?
Your first consultation will take around an hour and will include detailed discussion of your medical history as well as an appropriate physical, neurological and orthopaedic assessment to discover the cause of your problem.
You will also receive a full chiropractic treatment at your first session, providing an accurate diagnosis has been made and the practitioner is happy that chiropractic care is an appropriate option for your particular needs.
If further investigation is required to achieve a full diagnosis or chiropractic is not a suitable option, referral will be made either to your GP or another suitable practitioner to ensure that your healthcare needs are met.
How many sessions will I need?
Recovery depends upon many factors including the nature and duration of the problem, age, general fitness levels, commitment to a treatment plan and lifestyle advice. Most people respond well within 2 to 6 sessions, but the practitioner will discuss your case individually to provide realistic expectations for recovery.
How will I feel after treatment?
You can expect to feel physical changes as your skeleton starts to stabilise and muscles rebalance. You might feel better straight away or you might experience stiffness and tiredness, particularly after your first session.
By following simple, consistent self-care advice you will help yourself to recover more quickly and maximise the benefits of your treatment. After each session, try to take a gentle walk, drink plenty of water and rest as much as possible to help your body to respond to treatment.
